When you are bringing someone from off-campus to perform or speak at your event you will need to do a contract.  Even if the artist or speaker is performing for no charge, you will need to do a contract in most cases to protect your group from liability issues.

 

Visit the Office of Student Activities and set up an appointment to meet with a staff member and pick up contracts and review how to process them.

 

Some situations in which you will use contract for are bands, comedians, speakers and D.J.s.

 

It is important to remember that it is University policy that we issue Penn State contracts for any event under $5000.  If the event exceeds $5000 contracts must go to University Park for approval.  You must stop in the Student Activities Office when any contract is needed for an event.
